A person qualifies if they have any of the following:

• A physical or mental condition that has a substantial, long-term effect on their daily life
• A long-term (chronic) illness or disability
• A terminal illness

Common examples include Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, arthritis, diabetes, blindness, deafness, asthma, COPD, and mobility impairments. Many other conditions also qualify.

Temporary conditions like broken bones don't qualify. If unsure, ask your GP whether the condition is long-term.

Only products designed specifically for people with disabilities are eligible. Some general-purpose items don't qualify even if they're helpful — eligible products are clearly marked on our website.

Yes, you can claim VAT Relief when buying for a family member, someone you care for, or anyone else. At checkout, we'll ask for their name and a brief description of their condition.

When you claim VAT Relief, you're making a legal declaration that the eligibility conditions are met. We keep records of all VAT Relief claims for 6 years, as required by HMRC.
