The online digital display has been specifically designed to support people living with memory impairment and learning difficulties in their own homes. myhomehelper helps to reduce anxiety and isolation and gives peace of mind, reassurance and confidence to family and carers.
A simple set-up system can be accessed by family, friends and carers to tailor the system to suit individual needs via the myhomehelper website, from anywhere that has access to an internet connection - be that at home, work or even on holiday.
It has been designed as an "always on" system and once set-up only needs to be maintained when new activities, appointments or photos etc need adding. The end user does not have to do anything other than occasionally look at the display to benefit from it - there is no other interaction required.
The Calendar Clock shows the date and time in a clear full screen display. It can be changed to show any combination of day, date, time and time of day, enabling you to make it as simple or informative as required. You can even change the colors and language.
You can set the "time of day" text (e.g Morning, Afternoon, Evening) for each hour of the day to help give context to the current time.
The Diary displays information to help with daily activities, such as appointments, carer visits, birthdays, etc. and control when they appear by date, day of week and time. This helps with orientation and understanding what is happening on a day-to-day basis.
Once setup Diary Items can be shown on on-going schedule, so they only need setting up once There are two optional Diary display modes: Daily and Weekly.
Reminders can be set to appear either randomly or at set times during the day. Supported by audio, spoken and visual cues, reminders can be used to re-enforce behaviours and notify of imminent events/activities (e.g time to eat, favourite TV programme is on).
For those that are able to interact with the display you can optionally define up to three responses for the user to select from when a reminder is shown and be notified by e-mail when a response is selected.
You can send hundreds of photos to the myhomehelper display. The convenient upload tool on the myhomehelper website makes it easy for you to upload photos from wherever you are – be that at home, work or even on holiday even allowing you to optionally add captions to photos, which are great for reminiscence.
You can select from over 40 news sources to display news headlines. If used this feature will display up to 4 news headlines over the space of a minute.
This feature is a great way of keeping in touch with what’s happening in the outside world and helps keep the display fresh and interesting.
There are several options for sending instant messages to the display: SMS messages from mobile phones, Facebook or the myhomehelper website. When a message is received a photo of the person who sent the message is displayed.
You can make video calls to the display without the user having to do anything to answer it. When you end the call myhomehelper automatically resumes control over the display.
You can set up alerts to inform you if the power is disconnected from the display or if the internet connection is lost. This allows you to then take action to resolve the problem. You will also be notified when the issues have been resolved.
You can configure the display to enter a night mode between set times. When in night mode the display is dimmed down and only the calendar clock is shown. This is ideal for when myhomehelper is being used in bedrooms.
When this option is enabled the user can touch anywhere on the screen and the contents of the current display will be automatically spoken out.
