This radio is the only radio on the UK market that was specifically designed for people with Alzheimer's & Dementia and is also the perfect radio for elderly individuals who find technology confusing.

The product comes in two parts:

A high quality traditional LW/MW/FM waveband radio
A secure cover manufactured to the radio specifications

It is intended that the radio is set up for use by a carer or loved one, leaving the individual listener with a one-button simplistic radio.

The secure cover can be removed and advanced functions can be programmed, such as station choice and volume. The case can then be reattached leaving only a single red button that turns the radio on/off.

The radio has a headphone socket for private use and a large loudspeaker on the front of the radio. This allows the radio to be used for a variety of purposes and situations.

All of these features make this a very useful Radio for Elderly individuals with impaired memory, or sufferers of Alzheimer's & Dementia.

International Customers

For customers outside of the UK, please be aware that you will most likely have to run the radio on batteries, or find a suitable power adapter for your local country; as the supplied mains power cable is for UK use only. Please also note that simply buying a UK/USA (for example) plug adapter will not work. We are currently looking at power adapters for different countries & regions.

Secondly, AM radio will most likely not work in foreign countries. However, FM radio signals & channels have universal reception & will work perfectly.

For these reasons, we are currently only selling this radio to International Customers who Contact Us & ask to purchase it from their country.

I ordered this radio for my father who is 99 and partially sighted. He still lives on his own & his mind is 100% but in view of his great age & very poor eyesight he has great difficulty with gadgets.This radio has proved marvellous in every way & he is delighted with it. It is easy to use & he has had no difficulty whatsoever & he loves the fact that he just cannot press the 'wrong' button as there is only one button to press. Thoroughly recommend it.

ONE BUTTON RADIO

Bought this radio for my mother who suffers from dementia. Idea is great, but the button is a bit 'hit and miss', so after a few goes, mum gave up as she was worried she would not be able to switch it off again. Fortunately my husband is an engineer and adapted the button so that it switched on & off at every push, but should not really have to do this considering the price! Good reception though.

It would appear that your button wasn't correctly aligned during manufacturing, I apologise for this inconvenience.

We would normally offer you a replacement radio (and compensate you for return delivery costs) however you seem to have fixed the radio yourself.

One Button Radio

Radio was received on Dec 29th. Absoluitely excellent shipping service. However the one button radio could not be utilized by the elderly lady that it was purchased for. She did not have the strength to depress it far enough to engage the on/off radio switch. I removed the red push button on the case leaving a hole which was sufficient for her to insert her fnger and reach the radio on/off switch. Your one button radio concept is just excellent however the case button needs some re-engineering for ease of use. djp

It's unfortunate that Don's elderly friend was unable to find the strength to push the red button on our radio.

This is a problem that does occur in some elderly individuals with very little strength in their hands, we are working closely with the manufacturers to try to decrease the rigidity of the button.

We've also offered a full refund including return delivery costs to Don, should he choose to except this return.

Bought for an elderly lady with poor sight, all radios these days have too many small buttons close together, thus turn up the volume-loose the station!! Hopefully this radio will stop this frustrating problem.

Simple radio is just that

I purchased the simple one button radio for my brother who has early onset dementia. He constantly fiddles with buttons on his conventional radio, this radio stops all of that and the blessing is that the volume can be set to a reasonable level and even the tone of voice can be changed to suit his hearing. All in all a brilliant piece of equipment, now I want a CD player with the same capabilities.
